Universal access to quality education is paramount for improving people’s futures and for sustainable development. In recent years drastic improvements have been made in the access and quality of education around the world, however, there is still vast room for improvement. Progress has been hindered in developing regions due to high levels of poverty, natural disasters, conflict and infrastructure.
The main areas of focus identified in the UN Sustainable Goals are to; eliminate gender disparities in education and ensure equal access to all levels of education and vocational training for the vulnerable; ensure that all youth and a substantial proportion of adults, both men and women, achieve literacy and numeracy; Build and upgrade education facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, nonviolent, inclusive and effective learning environments for all.
With these goals in mind, Inspire aims to improve education by assisting with improving access and availability for all, improving the quality of education and personal development for both children and adults on our programmes and improving infrastructure and resources at our partner schools. Without access to free, quality education many of the children and adults we work with will remain in poverty for the foreseeable future. Therefore, our organisational strategy remains focused on achieving inclusive and quality education for all in our belief that better education is the most impactful and proven vehicle for sustainable development.
We are looking for people from all different backgrounds with varying expertise to assist with our education programme. Teachers and educational professionals are important for providing insights into curriculum improvements, teacher training, childcare methods and vocational skills. Volunteers who have transferrable vocational skills that will teach our young adults new proficiencies for the worldwide marketplace will further add huge value to our sustainable long-term programmes.
Volunteers will work to provide expertise in skills, such as, improving the quality of spoken English language, improving curriculums, running teacher training workshops, teaching physical education and expanding vocational skills. All these skills are invaluable to our target demographic- children and young adults from disadvantaged communities.
